moments of suffering and discontent. The goal is clear, we need
to get rid of the pains, we need to pursue pleasures and be

careful not to inflict suffering on ourselves. The joy of life unifies
pleasurable life and personal unclouded serenity.

This sage introduces novelties in the philosophy of the time and

gives directions for resolving certain issues. The current social
issues are significant and ready to be solved. Epicurus sought to

find techniques to solve social issues but proper and permanent
solution for the social issues has not been found to this day.

Solutions offered so far were motivated by the interests of the

proposers and, naturally, were unsuccessful. The creation of the
whole by using adequate democratic methods will eliminate

        discontent.

The only way suggested by Epicurus is the way that leads to

goodness. Social acknowledgement is the method that will

clearly recognize the goals of freedom from pain and reaching
        contentment.

“Life demands that we find the way to happiness,” says Epicurus.

Pleasures and the joy of life are pervasive ethic principles in

Epicurus’ philosophy. He recognizes four cardinal values that
enable happiness: Wisdom, Restraint, Courage and Justice.
