To him, friendship is the most important social relationship
that allows for good life, pleasant feelings and contacts, which
compensate for all the problems a person can have.
In the future, when social relationships reach a higher level,
friendship among people will bring feelings of happiness and
contentment. The new, humane social system will increase the
feelings of pleasure and decrease pain. People will be friendly,
with no prejudices or interest involved.
Plotinus (204-270) was a major Hellenistic philosopher,
considered to be the founder of Neoplatonism.
This is his famous quote:
“A person’s being can ascend or descend. By ascending to
the One, a person becomes better, by descending, towards
the material, the person becomes evil.”
The material and the spiritual should go side by side. The higher
social development of the whole will allow for it. Material goods
will be social goods or social benefits, they will not be
appropriated by force, nobody will want to possess personal
property. The goal in future will be higher and unified. The whole
will aim at populating the planets around us and beyond.
People will strive towards good life, serenity, joy, humaneness,
and love for all that surrounds us.
