reflected on his smiling face. He was the first European thinker
        who discussed morality and life values.


        Democritus brought his ideas about the atoms in relation with his

        ethical concepts. His ethics is focused on spiritual serenity, joy of
        life, and cheerful outlook.


        Democritus’ teaching about consciousness is among the first in
        history to deal with this basic notion about human morality. This

        is one of his great statements:

        “True love is striving towards beauty without violence.”


        Yet,  ignorant  philosophy  caused  severe  bloodshed  during  the

        October  Revolution  in  Russia  and  in  many  other  states  in  the
        world.


        “It is bad to follow the evil, but it is equally bad not to follow

        the good people.”

        This is a profound thought and message which is true even in the

        current  social  relationships  that  we  need  to  change  towards
        better  future.  Today,  we  have  to  follow  the  good  people  and

        recognize the bad ones who can be ignored or condemned and
        changed in order to become good.


        Antisthenes  (445-365  BCE)  was  aware  of  the  difference

        between philosophy and rhetoric.
