Has not usury been replaced by banks whose work was
supposed to assist individuals and companies? Rather
than improve, the banking system has worsened in the
recent years. Its work resembles that of the former system
of usury.
For example, the annual interest rate of deposited money
is one percent, while that of any loan reaches 10 percent
or more. This is how financial institutions make huge
turnovers and profits at the expense of the increasing
indebtedness of the people.
Why is this form of usury approved and encouraged by
banks and other intermediary institutions? Would it not be
better to have a central institution within the UN that would
establish a system for loans and control?
The solution for this situation should be reached through
thorough deliberation. For the time being, it is a deep and
puzzling issue that should unravel naturally and bring
about positive changes.
