numerous philosophers looked for ways to discover the truth;
they advocated ethical behavior and the path towards humanity.
In my travels around the world, I have always had respect for the
whole. I realized it was fundamental for the creation of a
homogeneous whole. I have always felt as part of the world. I
thought about the people who had potential and energy; I saw
their desire for a better, happier and more serene life.
While reading about the ancient Greek and Roman
philosophers, I noticed that some of their thinking was similar or
even identical with mine. I will try to summarize some of the
centuries old wisdom, in order to highlight and present their basic
message about our conduct in future.
Diogenes was a Greek philosopher, born in Sinope (413-323
BCE), who sensed the solution of the basic issue that still exists.
Diogenes presented himself with the well-known sentence:
“I am a citizen of the world!”
He became a renowned philosopher and famous people from
that time wanted to meet him. The legend says that, Alexander
the Great, having heard interesting stories about him, visited
Diogenes in his wooden barrel on the main square in Corinth. He
found him sleeping. He woke him up, presented himself and
asked him if there was anything he could do for him. Diogenes
