The old Utopians had an unrealistic approach to it. They were
close to the socialist-communist ideologies that are unacceptable
for well-known reasons. Today and in future people will see the
truth and the desire for material goods will diminish. Here is an
example to illustrate the fact that the present social relationships
are out of date. Let us suppose that science in future will find a
way to establish living conditions on a Planet X. The whole world
will be engaged on this challenging project. Will a normal person
be bothered to think about inheritance in such circumstances?
Imagine that Planet X is several times bigger and possibly
100,000 times richer in natural resources then our planet Earth.
Who would be interested in inheritance that is essentially much
smaller and practically worthless?
In the future, inheritance will have insignificant value and people
will not be interested in it.
Inheritance has changed its form through history. For example, a
hundred camels today have less value because vehicles are
used for transport.
Some say that the Earth is overpopulated. Now its population is
about eight billion, but even if it were 180 billion, it would still be
insufficient for the huge project of inhabiting a much bigger planet
than ours.
