In Düsseldorf, I met an American, a funny and
witty guy. I tried to convince him that socialist life was the
right solution because I had been brought up in that spirit,
but to him I must have looked like a stubborn and hard-
headed man.
In order to bring me to my senses, he asked me:
- Ok then, where does Karl Marx come from?
I replied quickly, “From Germany.”
- So do you think we are fools? Had it been good,
we would have been the first to adopt that system!
After Germany, I came back home…
I took a few exams, met some of my friends and
went to London, England. I lived there for a year and I
think those were the best years of my life. I got to know
the pubs near Piccadilly like the back of my hand.
And again, like so many times, I came back home.
After a short stay, I decided to travel the world again, to
meet new people and find out new ways of thinking
because I knew only too well about the ways of the
people and friends back home.
Looking for new experiences, I decided to get a
job on a ship. I became a sailor on a 200-meter-long
