It must be remembered that nobody is allowed to
take somebody else’s life and everything born on this

planet deserves to live.

Man’s core is filled with love, although there is a

thin outer layer of vices and love for power that should be
eliminated. One day… when it happens, love will prevail.

The inevitable development will happen, but it is up

to us to decide whether we are going to speed it up or
stifle it. If we fail and destroy ourselves, I will be very

sorry not for myself, as I may not be alive then, but for

my children and the next generations.
Let me go back to some images of my childhood. I

remember, I was about five, when I saw Yasser Arafat on

television, sitting on the grass under some rocks, with the

well-known black-and-white keffiyeh, holding a machine
gun in his hands.

I remember him because he remained in the same

uniform and the same idea to his death. Neither he nor

the rest of the world have found a solution to this problem
after so many years. The discontent persists and the

problem has not been solved for decades.
