Even though he believed democracy to be a just system, he
ranked it at the lowest position of the good forms of government.

His opinion was shared by many of the rulers of his time.

Aristotle considered monarchy to be the best form of
government. A monarch inherits his wealth and title and his duty

is to lead his people towards better life and progress. Social
relations and social development are his direct responsibilities.

Throughout history, good monarchs provided prosperity, while
bad monarchs brought decline and deterioration in social

relationships. Monarchs were very much into waging wars and

each lost war brought huge problems to the country.

Aristocracy, when ruling well, contributed towards the

development of the country but the results were less prominent
because the group had different interests and decisions were

reached by compromise, which does not always give good

        results.

Tyranny, oligarchy and ochlocracy are bad forms of government

because of a number of objective and subjective reasons. For
example, the country that lost the war got its rulers appointed by

        the winning country.

Any science dealing with social relations wanted to find a system

that would be ideal or better than the previous one.
