The study of the Encyclopedia of Ethics of world-famous people
throughout history sends wonderful messages about ethical
behavior of people. The question arises if we live in a world of
moral values?
If the situation is viewed objectively and realistically, social
relationships in the world today are unsatisfactory and, in some
regions, downright disastrous. Why is that so?
Suppose an extraterrestrial comes to our planet in order to study
our civilization and assess our development. The alien might
have studied our literature written in the past centuries before
coming to our planet to see how we live. After a brief sojourn
here, the alien might conclude that we are intelligent and we
reason well, but in reality, we live rather poor lives. The first
comment could be:
“You lack organization and respect in your social life.”
People should understand that the whole world needs
determination and organization. Actions in terms of organization
of the whole have so far been insignificant and with little success;
the existing world institutions, such as the United Nations, did not
contribute much. This is because, in the present situation, United
Nations member states have diverging interests. Divergent
interests do not allow for a unified goal.
